Although it has been quite awhile since I have written, I continue to have a heart to write and a hope within me to make some lasting, beneficial contribution to this world while I am in it.  The idea has come to me to attempt a series of posts about things we can do to show love and kindness to others in this mad, marvelous world in which we live.  I hope to find unique charities, support groups, etc to which contributions can be made.  As a Christian, I feel called to show Gods love through service and support to those in need.  However, we all know that the showing of love and kindness to others is not limited to those who are Christian.  All it takes is an inner desire to do good unto others, a desire for a better life for all, a desire for a better world for all who live in it.  I hope that this will be a fruitful effort and will inspire others with a heart for the humanitarian effort.

     Without further adieu, I present an organization that I recently came across and was so moved that this whole idea was born to me.  NICU Helping Hands is an organization that was formed from the recognition of the vast emotional, physical, and financial needs of families with premature, sick, or otherwise special-need babies.  They provide many support services to these families and have multiple ways to contribute.  As a nurse and a mother, I feel this organization is providing a beautiful, loving service.  I hope that everyone will check them out and maybe even find a desire to contribute to their good works.
